Melager uses your information to run your account and mess. We do not sell your personal information or receive your Google password.
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the Melager mobile application, its supporting API service, and this website. Melager helps members and administrators manage mess memberships, meals, expenses, deposits, and related records.
2. Information we process
To provide Melager, we process account information such as your name, email address, optional mobile number, encrypted password credentials when you use email sign-in, and account identifiers. We also process the mess memberships, meal entries, expenses, deposits, notes, and administrative actions that you or an authorized mess administrator create in the app.
3. Google Sign-In
If you choose Continue with Google, Google provides Melager with your Google account identifier, name, email address, and a sign-in token. A profile picture may also be included by Google during sign-in, but Melager does not use or store that picture. We use the remaining information only to authenticate you, create or link your Melager account, and keep your account secure. We do not receive or store your Google password. Melager requests only basic Google profile and email access required for sign-in.
4. Why we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, identify the correct mess membership, show accounting records, operate role-based administration, send verification or password-recovery emails, respond to support or deletion requests, prevent misuse, and maintain the reliability of the service.
5. Sharing
Melager does not sell personal information. Information is visible to people who are authorized within the relevant mess according to their role. We may use infrastructure, email delivery, authentication, database, and hosting providers solely to operate the service. Those providers may process information only as needed to provide their services.
6. Storage and security
Account and mess records are stored on the Melager backend and its database service. Session data may be stored securely on your device so that the app can keep you signed in. We use authentication tokens, access controls, and verification codes to protect accounts and sensitive administration actions. No system can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong password and keep your device secure.
7. Retention
We retain account and mess records while your account and the related mess remain active, or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. A mess administrator may retain shared accounting records that are necessary for the mess history even if a member leaves the mess.
8. Your choices and deletion
You can delete your account from Profile in the Melager app or from the Account Deletion page by confirming with your password or a one-time code sent to your account email. Your login, email address, optional mobile number, password credential, Google sign-in association, and other personal account data are permanently deleted. Shared mess accounting records and the member name already recorded in each mess are retained to preserve understandable historical ledger totals. The member record is disconnected from the deleted account and displayed with an Account deleted label.
9. Children
Melager is not directed to children under the age at which they can independently consent to data processing in their country. Do not use the service if you are not permitted to do so.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Melager, its data practices, or relevant legal requirements change. We will publish the updated version on this page and change the effective date.
